Very Disappointing Experience at Burger King
I’ve always been a loyal Burger King fan, especially because my kids love it. Unfortunately, my recent experience with the Malabe branch was really frustrating. I placed an order for over Rs. 8000 around 7:30 PM on 12/10/2024, expecting it to arrive in 45 minutes—three kids’ meals for three hungry kids and a few items for the adults.
After an hour, I called to check on the order. They told me it had been dispatched and would arrive soon. When I called again, I learned there was only one delivery rider, which seemed hard to believe, especially on a busy weekend.
Things got even more confusing when my mom received a call about a delivery to our old address in Wattala. I had confirmed my current address when I placed the order and had received deliveries there before. I explained this to the delivery rep, who assured me they were sorting it out.
Another 30 minutes passed, and when I called again, a supervisor said the delivery bike had broken down and they were sending my order via a pick-me ride. I felt overwhelmed by all the issues and it was tough managing the kids while they waited.
Finally, my order arrived around 9:30 PM—more than two hours after I had placed it. The fries were soggy, the drinks tasted flat, and the burgers weren’t great either.
I let the delivery rep know I was disappointed and asked for some kind of compensation, given my loyalty to Burger King. However, Mr. Lahiru, the supervisor at the Malabe branch, refused to offer anything. He said they might consider it for my next order, which I’m not sure I’ll place.
Mistakes happen, but it’s disappointing when they’re not addressed properly. Even the Burger King crew wouldn’t want to eat the food we received. BK – You lost me today!
