    Credit Cards

    I am so frustrated about this bank. Never ever don’t get any credit card from HNB. You have to face hidden policy, ineffective staff, an ineffective connection between branches, and limitless payment.

    I am a customer of HNB and I am sure they don’t take customer service seriously. Plus, they’re outdated. Look at the below examples:

    1. When there is powercut, their ATMs (attached to the banks) don’t work. I asked the Panadura Branch Operations Manager about this, and her reply was “due to the current situation we couldn’t get diesel for generator.” I don’t know whether to laugh or cry with this irresponsible response. Why HNB thinks a generator is needed to run an ATM machine.

    2. I made an on-demand request for a statement, and their immediate response “We only have limited paper to print statement. Please make a request and get it on Monday”

    3. And, their CustomerCare@hnb.. never replies to a customer.

    Poor Service HNB Kundasale Branch

    Visited Kundasale HNB branch to exchange USD to SLR. A simple 2-minute process took over 30 minutes. Literally, the staff did not know what to do, I was surprised, after filling half a dozen forms (somebody had to walk a staff member over the phone on how to fill the form in their own system), making passport copies, multiple questions, finally got it my own money. So, much for receiving dollars when there is a huge dollar crunch in the country. Needless to say, not going to this branch.. and perhaps time to close the accounts as well.

    1. I am a customer of your bank more than 25 years. On 25th April 2022 I have informed the bank in writing (Panchikawatta branch) to change my contact number in the digital banking app and I have called many times to the hot line from the said date to today. But still no response for my request from your side.
      I am very disappointed about your service towards this and this is the worst customer service I have experienced so far.
