    The worst network in Sri Lanka

    My mother is paying a monthly bill of Rs. 800+ for a ‘UPAHARA’ sim which has been out of service since December, 2024.She pays the bill with her pension money.The lame excuse given by Mobitel is that they can’t handle the number of connections that they have issued. They don’t have the capacity. Is that our fault? That is your incompetency as a network. Your greed has led to this. If you are working on it and it is going to take a long time, you should give the customers a consent. Why should we pay the bill for a sim that doesn’t work? Isn’t that ‘stealing ‘ or ‘exploitation ‘? I hope the authorities who get their salaries from the money that is robbed this way would read this. I have called Mobitel 6 times since January before posting this. Mobitel should use the money they spend for advertising to improve their service. Even in other areas it is not easy to make a call. We need yo locate specific places inside the house to make a call using Mobitel. It is the worst network in Sri Lanka and I don’t recommend it to anyone. If it takes another 9 months to improve their useless coverage, by then my mother will have paid the bill for a year without getting any service. Shame on Mobitel! We received a call from someone who claimed to be an engineer and I am sure that he lied because the sim is still dead. Once a call had been received but the caller from Mobitel had not heard what my mother had said. Their stupidity became evident when I was informed that the complaint has been closed. Luckily I called and got to know about it and it was renewed. All the lies they show in the advertisements make me laugh. It is just the show off and nothing else. So fake! My mother got a prepaid Dialog sim to use in case of an emergency because the landline is also SLT Fibre which also doesn’t work at times. Two people who came from.SLT Mobitel to check our landline couldn’t use their Mobitel connection and had to use Doalog to call their office. That was hilarious! SLT and SLT Mobitel are equally poor in the service they provide. They don’t care about their customers , they don’t provide any service but take money from people for the service not provided.
    I posted this to alert the others that this may happen in your area and you will be paying bills to Mobitel for a service you don’t even get. Please be informed! Thank you!

    Extremely bad roaming service

    My experience with Mobitel roaming was a disast. Can’t reach them from overseas. Not answering calls. This happened to me 3times now in 3 different countries. Once you go out of the country roaming is not connecting, usually it should connect automatically. Don’t get Mobitel roaming services unless you needed to get nowhere outside SL.
    It’s a shame 🤮.
