Please aware of dodge taxi drivers – recent scam happen to me by PickMe texi driver in Sri Lanka. Booked a taxi from airport junction to airport and quoted LKR 435.11 and and charged LKR 4521.08.
I have bank card link to my PickMe account. Normally once journey completed the quoted amount will be deducted from bank automatically. However this instance PickMe driver pick up me on the 24th Dec 2024 at 0402am and dropped me off at the airport within 10min, but he didn’t close my journey and continue for more than an hour and charged me LKR 4521.08.
So I lodge complaint with PickMe customer service on the same day and 1st investigation pickme informed that there were 2 passengers and driver took 2nd passenger to somewhere else. 2nd investigation, driver informed that passenger didn’t inform taxi driver not to take highway to airport and PickMe close my complaint.
Anyone using PickMe taxi and pay via account in Sri Lanka be careful

Untrustworthy service. Booked and confirmed Taxis don’t turn up as informed. Customer Service is useless. For airport drops or any time sensitive occasions it will be disastrous.
Have deleted the app, will not use anymore.

Why add a handling fee to orders through the Pick Me app? It’s very unusual, order cost is 530/-, delivery fee is 129/-, handling fee is 106/-, convenience fee is 26.50/- ( total = 261.50 ) half of the order is additional amount. Why handling fees when ordering from the app?
I have odered a food, driver took my food went to different directions, so I called driver twice but he didn’t pick up the phone. So i call pick me customer service twice their answer is “driver will be there within one minute, driver will be there two minutes “ so i asked them to cancelled the order but they didn’t. Coz i don’t want to pay for the cold food. End of the day they have charged using my points without asking me.

Today I take a pick me ride it’s fare was 359/- after that the tuk drive gone a wrong road that he said the map was showing that root. After that I told the correct root and finally came to the destination . But the final fare was 689/- that’s too much for me because I’m not a rich man to pay double cost to the one ride and its not my fault. Every Time I believe the pick me but this time I’m worrying about choosing pickme.
